Aw well, we can dream. :)robotGEEKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00355070295108163031noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7959025705353546660.post-80312893080437386142016-05-24T10:13:19.795-07:002016-05-24T10:13:19.795-07:00We're on the same page man! I haven't seen the Theatrical Cut since it first hit theaters so I can't remember how well it compares between the two, but man, I was so surprised that I loved this one. Definitely getting the blu ray on this soon.

Thanks for stopping by!robotGEEKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00355070295108163031noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7959025705353546660.post-25101850050465485132016-05-09T09:15:32.473-07:002016-05-09T09:15:32.473-07:00This one got a bad rap when it first came out beca...This one got a bad rap when it first came out because it messed with the Highlander mythology, it made them aliens...it was all weird, the first one was more of a fantasy, with these eternals roaming the earth, but whatever, I don't mind the shift in tone or genre (from fantasy to scifi) cause the creators of the franchise can take whereever the hell they want to take it. I actually enjoy this sequel a lot.

Ever scene the producers cut of the film? They supposedly "fixed" a lot of the story, its a bit messy, but it includes a lot of deleted scenes. I prefer the theatrical version though, its better in my opinion.

I agree with ya, the action is awesome, as well as the stylistic stuff, the art direction was awesome, those sets look like something right out of Batman or something. The hover sequence is my favorite. This one aint as bad as some say, I actually enjoy it. I got the 2004 special edition with "improved" special effects (they turn the sky blue instead of red which sort of ruins the oppressive feel of the world). Just realised I own 3 copies of this film now!

It's a baffling sequel because it trample all over the original film in the clumsy way possible but it's also kind of fun too. Like you I love the production design and sword fights.

I still prefer the original version with Zeist (as lame an explanation as that is for the immortals). I remember reading somewhere the producers genuinely thought it would be a hit and had an idea that the third film would be able McLeod going to Zeist to fight an even greater enemy!

Jack Thursbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03101157160144955486noreply@blogger.com
