The title THE THING I did not like If you are going to make a prequel use a different title. and the story goes too quickly too many things happen all at once. the creature is seen too may times some of the CG is off as well. overall the film is so so I still prefer JOHN CARPTENTERS VERSION .. and the wonderful effects by Rob Bottin. But like you, I just didn't care for Winestead in the lead. She always looks lost or confused. Also glad they integrated practical effects in there too. But it honestly just felt like a remake, and an unnecessary one at that. But it wasn't bad though. Definitely worth a watch. If for no other reason than to appreciate the brilliance of Carpenter's version. robotGEEKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00355070295108163031noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7959025705353546660.post-38052972570682833142012-10-11T02:41:42.890-07:002012-10-11T02:41:42.890-07:00Yeah I've been putting off watching this too! ...Yeah I've been putting off watching this too! What made you crack?

Sounds like a pretty "unnecessary" prequel but I'll probably give it a watch one day. Just for curiosities sake.

I guess we should be thankful it wasn't some god awful teen remake like The Fog? It sounds like they've done a decent job of respecting what happened in the original. Casting Norwegian actors etc. Shame they had to go and cast Winstead in the lead.

Good to hear they've used a mix of CG and practical effects. I think almost all horror films nowadays would be hard pushed not to use CGI.Jack Thursbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03101157160144955486noreply@blogger.com
