That dream sequence was.......something. Fabio...Ha! That dream sequence was.......something. Fabio? LOL.
But you're right, despite it's little quirks, as a whole, it's a pretty stellar picture. After I saw it I did some digging to see what else Blatty had directed and was shocked to find out he'd only ever directed 2 films? Wow. He's definitely got a keen eye for detail. I need to try and track his first film down. I'd never heard of it before but it seems to have some pretty solid reviews.

Thanks for stopping by Jack!! Hope all is well!robotGEEKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00355070295108163031noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7959025705353546660.post-47222480147348347512014-07-25T01:32:39.187-07:002014-07-25T01:32:39.187-07:00Hell yeah, this is a very underrated film. I only ...Hell yeah, this is a very underrated film. I only got around to watching this (and the atrocious part 2) recently. Scott and Dourif are both awesome and it's got some great little moments (like Scott rushing home and the infamous bit with the killer wearing a sheet).

There's a couple of goofy moments that didn't work for me - I didn't like the lady crawling on the ceiling or the bizarre heaven as a train station sequence - but it's a small price to pay. The rest of the film was riveting.

Need to track down Blatty's other film The Ninth Configuration (aka Twinkle Twinkle Killer Kane). Heard good things about that too.
